Posted: Thursday, 19 June 2008 10:15AM Atascadero Man Who Died in Collision Identifed The Atascadero man killed while setting up his motorcycle on Highway 101 near Clark Avenue in Santa Maria Tuesday has been identified as 56 year old Bruce Eugene Bruton. According to the CHP, Bruton had pulled over on the shoulder to remove some clothing when his bike fell over. A passerby stopped to help him. Bruton was about to get back on his motorcycle when a truck driven by Mitchell Yost of Rosemond veered off the highway, onto the shoulder and struck Bruton, causing severe trauma to the body. Bruton died shortly thereafter. Yost was not cited. No drugs or alcohol were involved. CHP is still investigating.
