Abandoned Horse Leads to Owner's Arrest
|
|
The SLO County Sheriff’s Department Rural Crime Unit took a horse into custody over a week ago, and now the owner of that horse is in jail. 44 year old Jose Maria Figueroa-Navarro allegedly failed to give the horse enough water, food and care to the point of causing injury to the animal. Figueroa-Navarro now faces charges of animal cruelty. SLO County has seen an increase in horse related problems, and the Sheriff’s Department reminds residents that if anyone suspects any cases of animal neglect or abuse to call 805.781.4578. |
