31st Annual National Night Out

Join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “31st Annual National Night Out” crime prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored by Morro Bay Police Department and Morro Bay Neighborhood Watch, will involve over 16,124 communities from all 50 states. In all, over 37.8 million people are expected to participate in ‘America’s Night Out Against Crime’.

National Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts; and (3) Strengthen community-public safety partnerships.

From 5 to 7:00 p.m. on August 5th, residents throughout Morro Bay are invited to stop by and spend the evening with the police and Morro Bay public safety teams including the fire department, harbor department, coast guard, American Red Cross, parks department and CERT. Morro Bay Neighborhood Watch will be hosting a barbecue at Del Mar Park in North Morro Bay. There will be crime prevention information, displays and demonstrations, as well as activities for the youth.
