A renewable energy project, decades in the making has been approved. Following hours of public comment yesterday, the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors denied an appeal calling to turn down a wind farm proposal in Lompoc. The project includes 29 wind turbines on roughly 3,000 acres just off Miguelito Canyon Road. Officials say it should generate $40 million in tax revenue during its 30-year lifecycle while creating more than 150 jobs. Groundbreaking on the project is expected sometime next month.
