California State Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham wants to keep Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant running. His plan includes legislation that would declare nuclear as a renewable energy source. His resolution would also allow the plant to be sold during PG&E’s current bankruptcy proceedings. Funds from the sale could then be used to assist victims of state wildfires. PG&E officials say they have no plans to sell or close Diablo Canyon early.
