If you are a voter and live in San Luis Obispo County, your polling place will soon become extinct. The County Board of Supervisors has decided to take the first steps in to modernize local elections. County leaders are hoping to eventually replace neighborhood polling places with regional voting centers. County Clerk-Recorder Tommy Gong says a majority of voters are already voting by mail. However, he was cautious about completely eliminating polling places by the 2020 election citing possible voter confusion.
