Posted: Monday, 30 June 2008 10:56AM "Safe" and Sane Fireworks Spark Brush Fire A brush fire sparked this weekend by Safe and Sane Fireworks has some people questioning how safe those fireworks really are. Five areas in San Luis Obispo County are allowing people to use fireworks to help celebrate the 4th of July holiday. Cal Fire responded to the vegetation fire at Highway 41 and Clark, near Shandon with four engines, one chief officer and 2 prevention officers. The fire caused $350 in damage and charred three acres of land.
